(snowballs are only seasonal for some - how about a Sydney sweat ball?)

In an aid to help predict the quality of an image on the monitor that will
be reproduced on a press - I have found that an even reduced view
magnification of 50% or 25% for larger files can be a useful guide, but a
guide only. This is often handy when you have to dust spot a lousy image
(you can cut corners as the screen will remove a lot of the work, although
one would not sell a scan like this it is fine for one off use at the
intended print size) or even for evaluation of grain.

Interesting side note, the 25% view seems to be interpolated a lot better
than 50%.

Sincerely,

Stephen Marsh.
