This message is for all and not specific to your question or sources.

There is no subject in our business which has generated as steaming a pile
of misinformation and confusion a color management. There is a book which I
found to be the best book on the subject BY FAR. Your color management life
will be divided into two parts... Before and after you read this book. You
will look sheepishly back at the questions you have asked in the past and
wonder what all the confusion was about. And, God's busy with other stuff.

The book is "Real World Color Management" by Bruce Fraser and others
