Dear David, You more-or-less have a perfect solution right there: - Keep your G4 and run it as a print server; - Do all your heavy retouching on the G5; - When you are ready to print, optimise a file for output and save it on the G4 (which you will have networked to the G5). In my opinion, OS9/Classic still remains the better option for printing especially if you have multiple devices of the same model. You may find that it is better to put an additional drive into your existing G4, install OSX on that and choose your existing OS9 drive as the Classic volume so that it remains untouched and just how you like it. That way, you can enjoy all the benefits of OSX on both machines as well as retaining your old trusty OS9 volume. I run a similar set-up in my studio and it works beautifully. All my files optimised for output are neatly stored on the print server, where they belong, rather than clogging up my other workstations. I hope this helps - if would like to discuss it further, please do not hesitate to call or email off list...
