Though this is still expensive compared with likely trans-Atlantic prices, it's not quite so bad as the price disparity of the original 14n in USA versus UK/EU, since the new model's US price is said to be around $5k. Maybe Kodak are trying to soften the UK rip-off factor. The original 14n is currently advertised by NYC dealers at under $3k, which at current exchange rates is under �1.6k; buy one there, get the upgrade to the new sensor (etc) for $1.5k, save money...
I don't think anyone here has mentioned another excellent development, namely the option to have a Pocket Wizard transmitter incorporated - I find this immensely appealing.
