Last time I checked with HM Customs and Excise, the import duty on digital cameras was about 4%. As far as VAT is concerned, we pay VAT on any cameras we buy here anyway, so that really isn't an issue.
As for the guarantee or warranty, I'm not sure. Martin?
I feel pretty sure that if an American photographer was over here on assignment and experienced a problem with his 14n, Kodak wouldn't shut the door in face!

That may be as well. It is my understanding that when you import you need to pay the vat on it and import duty if there is any. Unless you pay those your insurance company will not recignise it as an official purhase and will not insure it.
Besides that would kodak honour the guarentee ??.
