[PRODIG] renaming in PS CS

I've been using renamer4mac to batch rename whole folders of images, 
but would like to do the same occasionally in PS cs. What I can't work 
out is how to keep the 4 digit part of the original file name. IE  
DSCF5678.raf becomes timandrew_ABC5678.raf (ABC is a job code) which is 
dead easy in renamer4mac as it does a text find and replace.
