Hi Marc, I remember seeing an article on Britta Jaschinski in the Guardian magazine and seeing just the flaw you describe on a black & white shot and then thinking "flextight scan, and whoever scanned it tried to do another task while the scan was in swing.." I have had exactly the same problem, and it was always whenever you try and carry out any other operation during the scan, and I have taken to a 'leave well alone' approach during scanning and the problem has vanished. This is with OS 9.2 and I'm not sure if the problem exhists with OSX. I will one day move to OSX....
