As Richard said, this was a major point of discussion on Imacon Users. I brought up the issue and had to fight tooth and claw to receive any kind of admission from the powers that be.
Dear Jack
I remember the postings well and the pain and disruption those unfortunate enough to experience those particular problems had to endure. It's worth reminding ourselves that it was perhaps only the concerted vocal postings from many of us that shamed the manufacturers into supplying replacement scanners.......eventually. Sad this sort of action proved necessary.
On a personal note three years earlier, I had to cause all sorts of upset to get a decent Flextight and software that actually worked as it should. The replacement was a great scanner. Such a fiasco causes one considerable stress, a huge amount of lost production time, incalculable cost and the loss of faith in the manufacturer. No, I do not like paying for the privilege of being a beta test when it is not a part of the deal!
Cheers
Richard
PS I have just heard from Jorge our duty list mum in Venezuela that he is caught up in horrific country wide violence and civil unrest. I am sure we all wish him and his family and friends well and the return of safer times.
