Dear Marc, As Richard said, this was a major point of discussion on Imacon Users. I brought up the issue and had to fight tooth and claw to receive any kind of admission from the powers that be. I wasn't popular in certain quarters for being so persistent but it caused a constructive stir. You are observing a gearing problem - an issue embedded in the fundamental design and construction of the Flextight and you have to make sure you get a 'good one' because when they are good, they are really good! However, Imacon do have a great deal of trouble getting this right and they are lucky that most people don't notice it...
