I have a folder (with 2 levels of subfolders) containing several hundred
images. I want to resize all the images (saving back to their original
location) such that all landscape images are 550 pixels wide, and all
portrait images are 550 pixels high. I am using Photoshop CS and Windows
XP.

There is a conditional statement that can be used within actions in Image
Ready, and allows a test to determine the aspect ratio of the image. I used
this to create an action which I tested successfully on individual images
within Image Ready.

I have never used Image Ready before, and assumed that if I created a
droplet from the action, and the dragged the folder which contains the
subfolders and images, that it would do what I want.

When I do this I get the error message;

     The droplet was unable to communicate with
     Image Ready. Please try again, error code 4080.

Image Ready was open at the time of the error, and I did try again (and
again, and again!), but with the same results. I am probably doing
something very stupid, but what is it?!
