[PRODIG] whereunto old fashioned raw

What happened to facility in PS to access the 'original' raw file format 
(ie ??headerless hombrew files) ?

...Remember  - one needed to define the number and length of scanlines in 
the file/open procedure.

I hunger for a 'no questions asked reader' to access a corrupt LZW 48 bit 
tiff file

Graphic converter normally suffices for this and corel photopaint often 
opens files which PS informs as corrupt  - have tried both of these on a 
corrupt file

Any other suggestions appreciated. (pc or mac)
