I've looked around a bit but I'm not sure I have a great answer. Apple's ColorSync
list can be pretty good but it's also all over the map. People don't shy away from
colour science questions there and it can be surprising who lurks on that list. I have
a number of text books and have had replies from the authors of those books on that
list!

As mentioned by Mr Riecks, the ColorTheory list can be good. Dan Marguilis is a major
critic of colour management in the past but he's pretty brilliant when it comes to
image production work so you can get good information on that list.

As for reading there are a few tomes that are considered necessary references. A
couple of those include:

"Color Science" Wyszecki & Stiles - ISBN 0-471-39918-3 - 950 pages of the nastiest
color science you will ever want to immerse yourself in. All the equations, tables of
spectral & other data. It's a beast, but it's good.

"The Reproduction of Color" by R W G Hunt - ISBN 0863433685 - also a touchstone for
color. Sixth edition is pending publication.

"Understanding Digital Color" by Phil Green of the London College of Printing - ISBN
0-88362-233-5 - less technical, good overview

For anyone who might have been asking about sources for my previous assertions, I
offer the above books as references.

hope this helps.

I do have a data set that was calculated using human eye response curves and a number
of other massaging techniques. I'm sorry that I cannot share the data but the upcoming
"Pro" version of ColorThink will use it for comparisons and allow the graphing of it.
(all things going well).

Regards,

Steve
