As far as I'm aware it is not possible to transfer the music from an iPod to a Mac or PC. I use the Belkin media reader for the iPod and transfer my photos from my microdrive to the iPod, and from there to my Mac, with no problems whatsoever. The media reader is useful but very, very sloooooowwwwww.
