All these images will ultimately be burned to CD. The laptop/storage device will just be for temporary storage during the holiday:) Once my boss returns from holiday...all the images will be downloaded and burned to CDs:)

That is precisely how redundant back up works during a shooting.
If the conditions allow it, one extra step in the workflow must also include CD/DVD's burned with the original data as we go shooting. If the laptop goes nuts and even if the Digital Wallet 's drive ( FashTrax,etc) also fails, then you will still have the Discs to save the day(s).
