You've left out one system which I regard as the best, Imacon Ixpress 528 C, NOTHING comes close (apart from the 384 C ) and it actually works, unlike other manufacturers who still cant get their's released, and YES its a dream on location. I wouldn't use anything else !
With regards to multishot versus single shot, just compare them side by side. The 22 mp single is amazing but the multishot on the same chip will blow you away completely. Unless you need crazy file sizes, 4 shot will probably be your main shooting mode.
You may find the 5 X 4 too clunky for the minute movements you use when shooting dig, I shelved my P2 years ago and bought and Arca Swiss 6 X 7 Monolith, wow what a camera, made me wonder what I ever saw in Sinar ! And yes unfortunately to get the most from your back, especially multishots, you will have to get dig lenses and electronic shutters + controller and the list goes on. The gear will usually cost about as much as the back, so bear that in mind. Great innit !! Oh and dont forget to leave some more dosh for the chip upgrades every six months.
I remember the film days when buying a new lens was considered a sizeable purchase, .........bless.
