Yes, they appear in the profiler. And I am trying to print in Classic.

If it's Classic, have you tried rebuilding the desktop in System Preferences?
I've just tried this as you suggested but this doesn't appear to work.

Oldish G4? Maybe the USB port has gone and you need to buy a USB card -
good idea anyway as it has 3 ports and is much more reliable than a hub...
It is an old G4 - but the strange thing is I've turned one of the printers off and tried printing in OSX 10.3 and it works. Not sure I completely follow the dialogue box yet, but it does print! But still not in Classic.
I must admit I'm baffled.
