Not sure exactly what you're trying to accomplish but one option to consider that gives you a relative low cost, very portable rig that can do incredibly high res work is to use a high res DSLR like the Kodaks with a Quicktime VR head to create stitched composite images. The process is easier and faster than it may seem at first... and the results easily compete with what I could do with 4x5 film. I don't do a great deal of architectural photography but I've used such a system for several shoots over the past year. Sometimes I use it for high res. Sometimes I use it just to get a very wide field of view in a cramped space. There's a bit of learning curve to get up to speed with doing this work efficiently but if you've got the skills and patience to handle a view camera well, you can handle this.
