Comparing C1 and Camera Raw is not fair because one is a dedicated Raw
convertor and costs an arm and a leg while the other can be had for the
price of an upgrade, or a similar price to C1 if you don't have a full
version of Photoshop, that gives you access to image editing, PDF
presentations, creating images for the Web, animations, QuickTime movies,
text on  a path, to name but a few.

Though not obvious at first, you can batch Raw files without having to
create an action. You can do it from within the File Browser fairly
painlessly: Select files > Automate > Apply Camera Raw Settings.
