C1 is the best �299 I have spent. Its a bargain.
I can individually adjust files in C1 and batch in the background.
Can I use PS while batching in PS? I can with C1.

Though not obvious at first, you can batch Raw files without having to create an action. You can do it from within the File Browser fairly painlessly: Select files > Automate > Apply Camera Raw Settings.
