Well I can't say I agree here. I also own Nikon D1x and had been using both
Bibble and then later on the RAW plug-in with PS 7.0.1 + CS RAW. Capture one
literally extended the lifetime of the Nikon D1x for me, both was it much
easier to get good colours and the 10MP interpolated files were much better
than I had expected.

Since I posted yesterday I have downloaded the latest version of C1 (v 3.5).
Now one can get even better results regarding colour (I have always found
the skin tones too red from the Nikon D1x and have been more or less doing
the same hue adjustment to all images with skin tone) by simply editing the
input profiles with the 'Colour editor' and saving them out for reuse. Great
feature, kind of makes my wish for hue adjustment a-la CS RAW mute.

I strongly suggest D-SLR users that haven't tried C1 out to give it a shot
and to take some time comparing the files vs. CS RAW or any other software
they are using. My testing (and I have spent a lot of time with various
subjects such as portrait, landscape, aerials, still-life etc) have made me
confident of the fact that I am getting the most out of my RAW files using
C1 Pro, at least when I take into account how fast I am able to work with
the program. Of course there are probably always some images that I could do
better by using CS RAW or some other method (I have never tested the Nikon
software...) but it's the power vs. time I love so much. One has got to
compliment the Danes on this software.

(And no I don't work for Phaseone :) )
