Mike Ive just bought a Western digital Media centre from www.scan.co.uk for 176 + VAT.
250gb drive Firewire and USB2 connection built in 8 in 1 card reader and usb2 hub with a single press the button back up facility for its bundled Danze Retrospect Express backup software I'm unable to vouch for reliability but WD have an online disk checking facility as well a standalone software for verifying discs and warranty. Whilst I have had WD drives fail,in fact Ive not had a make not fail, they have always given warnings and no data has been lost through not being able to copy to another drive. WD will also send you a drive before you return the defective item. Regards Michael Wilkinson. 106 Holyhead Rd, Ketley, Telford, Shropshire.
