Hi Mike. I've got two Lacie 120Gb firewire 400 drives which have been faultless. I've also got one of the Porsche designed 75Gb drives and it was my posting about it not being visible on a Mac desktop. Thanks to everybody for their advice on it. In the end I fixed it with Nortons volume recover and now it too is working fine. So the D2 drives I'd recommend without reservation but be a bit wary of the Porsche ones - cheap though - 1 per gig. They are all too small though in capacity ;-)Hi
I've not had to buy external drives for a couple of years but I do now, so I guess I'm out of touch. I've used (until now) extremely reliable LaCie 40gB drives and would just replace them with whatever the current model is except I recall LOTS of problems on this list with LaCie drives, from portables losing data, not being seen by the Macs, problems with BigDiscs and Jaguar/Panther,
Patrick.
