Dear list,
I have finally recieved my upgrade to PS CS. It was on backorder for 8 weeks
in Australia! Needless to say I am extremely pleased with the added
functionality compared to PS 6.0. However I am having some probs. I am not
sure if my problem is caused by CS or XP. Saving a file as a psd gives me a
normal preview in the Photoshop file open box as well as the file browser
section. When using the Thumb view in the Windows XP browser, AOK. But when
I make a contact sheet using contact sheet 2 and save it as a psd file, the
thumbs view in PS open box and in XP shows either a black box and the file
name or a black page with very small coloured artifacts on the top 1/10 of
the page. In properties I get a normal preview and also in the photoshop
open box preview at the bottom, if the file is clicked on. This is not a
major problem, but it is annoying. Its like having a new car and something
is rattling somewhere, but only when you turn left on a sunny day!
Modifying then resaving the file as a psd does not help. Saving it as a
Tiff, then resaving it as a psd and the problem returns! Obviously the
Contact sheet plug in does something to the file that sticks with it.
Opening it in PS 6 and resaving as a psd fixes it! But if I make any changes
to the file in CS, it won't let me save it- a message saying the file is in
use and cannot be saved!!.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled CS to no avail.

Windows XP home, Pentium 4 HT- 3.0Ghz, 1.5Gb DDR 400Mhz Ram.
Any answers or where I might go to find one.
Thanks
Frank Styevko from Australia
Sorry in advance if I have done something stupid, but its a cold winter here
in Melbourne, I'm in the middle of a bad Flu, and I have just finished 3
consecutive overnighters in front of this box!!
Thats my excuse anyway!
