You do not say whether your paging partition is on your primary 'C' drive. If it is, it might help to move it to another HDD that is accessed less.

Also, have you set your virtual memory settings to twice physical RAM and put the maximum at 4096Mb?

Finally, there is a 'Prefetch' folder in Windows which, I understand, it uses to partially load regularly used programs into memory so start up of those apps is quicker.
Over time, this could mean that your RAM is being cluttered up unneccessarily with programs you no longer use.
If you delete the items in Prefetch then your main apps may take a few more seconds to first load but then should have more RAM at their disposal.
