[PRODIG] DVD burners

Just to update myself before I buy a new Lacie/Plexstor/Pioneer, what's the 
latest thinking on DVD formats, longevity of etc? And is there any real 
advantage to spending more than 60 quid for an IDE type? I only require (a) 
burning CDs for clients, and (b) burning backup DVDs for storage.
