Best place for reviews and opines etc is in the drive database at
http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/

Most will work but it's just the extra compatible with Apple's own consumer
apps (eg iTunes etc) that some and other don't give. Toast 5/6 will burn to
anything by the way but if you haven't got that program beware as 10.3
native burning will not work with all DVD burners, you can 'hack' the OS by
using PatchBurn to support some drives without using Toast but it's not
guarantied to work.

Again look at the site above. You want to really by using a Firewire model.
You could also make your own DVD burner by buying a internal drive and
external Firewire case saving you a bit of cash. You will be hard pushes to
find 8x blank DVD's today, burns hear but no media yet. A full DVD-R on my
Mac takes about 20 minutes to burn at moment.

> Currently it seems that DVD+RW is the most accepted format?

DVD-R media (W bit is rewritable) is the one most supported on the Mac but
most DVD burners are now dual format (DVD-R & DVD+R) anyway. Email if you
need anymore help.

James.
