Hi

Whilst on the subject of odd things to clean digital equipment with, I'd
mention 'Sainsbury's Bathroom cleaner' (NOT the one with bleach!)

The use of window cleaning mix (with ammonia) is often suggested for
cleaning printers, but I've not seen this one before.

I wondered about this stuff when I noticed it made the inks run in a bit of
paper kitchen towel. It contains, amongst many other things, isopropanol and
propylene glycol ether.

It is superb for cleaning ink jet printers and removes dried ink deposits a
treat. I used it on a previously scrap Epson 3000 yesterday - which now
prints fine (not an easy beast to dismantle - but thats another story).

Following on from the original thread I would emphasise that it is probably
NOT a good product for cleaning camera sensors :-)

bye for now
