Is there a straightforward and low-cost procedure for doing this?
Paul,
I found the registration process to be one of the few government procedures made painless!
Here is a link:
http://www.copyright.gov/register/
All you do is download a pdf form, fill it out and send it in along with the visual(s)...I will send in a CD with jpgs from the entire shoot. There is a $30.00US fee, no matter the number of images you are registering at that time. The registration takes affect when it arrives at the copyright office and not when you get the registration certificate back, which could take a good seven months.
Regards,
Hal
