.Apologies as I have requested help on this in the past but time has passed and technology moved along. I'm now finally preparing to go digital but I'm very unsure what spec of laptop I need. I'm hoping (if released) to purchase the new 1ds replacement and the laptop will be used as temporary storage,burn dvd,and poss process some raw images. Because I'm going to be spending rather a lot on the camera,lens etc etc I have to be careful on my budget but I also don't wish to be left with a dud slow machine with a poor monitor either. I'd appreciate advise on Processor speed,monitor spec etc. My budget is around �1,000 but could go a little higher if I have to and has to be a windows xp machine as that is what I retouch on at the office.
