It worked first time when I double-clicked on it - G4 Dual running 10.3.5.
I converted a batch of NEFs, and named them using the same DSC numbers but just changing the extension. I wanted to compare an original on screen together with it's new DNG version just to see if they were indeed identical: could not do it! For some reason - maybe Camera Raw thought it was the same file - but I could only open either one or the other. Even tried changing the file name to something completely different, but it made no difference.
Oh well, it is the first public release (even though it has the version number 2.3...)
Incidentally, the NEFs - from a D70 - were 5.7MB: DNG conversions were 4.7MB.

Speaking of the DNG Converter, the program will not launch for me (Mac OSX 10.3.5). There's nothing in the console logs. Has anyone on a Mac used it successfully? Does anyone have any ideas? If not, I'll report it to Adobe...
Update: Someone reported this on the Adobe DNG support forum. It seems lots of people are seeing this behaviour.
