Don The above is doable in Photoshop and you can change or delete the IPTC metadata in a JPEG, or any other format, without opening the file. To do so, just use the Metadata palette in the File Browser. However, the Camera Data (EXIF) cannot be modified and, therefore, has to be deleted. Currently, there are two ways of doing it: copy and paste the image data into a new document or use a script to copy it back into the same document. What's slightly confusing (perhaps Russell can explain why) is that you cannot delete the Camera Raw data from the FB but you can do it from within the File Info dialog. That means, if you have saved a JPEG that you want to send to a client, you have to open it and then resave it before you can remove both the Camera Raw data and the Camera Data (EXIF). >From a photographer's POV, what would be ideal is to have the choice of deleting both the Camera Data and the Camera Raw data without having to resort to actions. For example, if you could select the files and then from the contextual menu choose: Remove Metadata and then be presented with a dialog that lets you choose which data you would like to remove. There were some posts in the thread that mentioned other software that can delete the camera data without opening it. I suspect strongly that they can remove metadata but not the camera data. I personally do NOT want to send the camera data or the Camera Raw data to anyone. However, I do want to save it with my working files and my archived files. So, an option to remove selected fields when necessary would be most welcome.
