Simply, the idea is to ensure the various subject brightness levels reproduce as you intend, by making exposure & processing / printing a measurable procedure. Plenty of info about zone system's relation to digital imaging on the net. I Googled this morning and found http://www.bobwheeler.com/photo/Documents/ZoneDigital.pdf http://www.onlinephotography.com/bw.html Tim Wheeler > what does the statement below mean? >> ps. Ansel Adams described the zone system, but he kept one zone a secret >> that only he could reproduce. An old photographer's joke, created by jealousy of the rich tonal range he achieved. Along the lines of: "If Adams used digital he'd have blacks with values less than 0 and whites brighter than 255" =============================================================== GO TO http://www.prodig.org for ~ GUIDELINES ~ un/SUBSCRIBING ~ ITEMS for SALE
