Tim, I'm currently doing the same,migrating 500 odd cd's to a Lacie 400gig and Maxtor 300gig. So far no cd's (dating back to 1998)have failed me. I plan to backup all work to external hard drive and Dvd especially now Im shooting fully digital on a 20d and the 1ds mk2 it just concerns me how many external drives I'll be buying !
