We asked the presenters to screencast capture the presentation but the load on their machines while making their presentation was too great and it didn't end up happening.
I plan to do this moreso than the stuff I've already made public.
I'm very motivated to get these screencasts out and I think it would be a huge benefit to the community.
Agreed.
Rick Schummer recently blogged about screencasts and how it may actually hurt Fox conferences by removing the need to attend. I see his point. The question is ... how much would it hurt? Perhaps we're worrying about nothing at all? Or could it kill a conference or two?
While I can see his point to a degree, I doubt it would kill a conference. The screencasts are nice, but they don't replace the conference experience, and certainly not the networking and comradery (sp?) that happens.
I'd like to add a bit to what Ed said too....while I appreciate some of the "big name speakers" at some other conferences, it was nice to see others stepping up and "cutting their teeth" at FoxForward as well. Gives us much more sense of community in that "hey, we're all in this together" kind of way. jmho.
