OK, I fooled around with this -- back to basics as Ted (and others)
suggested. I *still* can't connect to WAPs with a browser, strange.
However --- I think I found the problem. Yes, it looks like a mundane
one: a bad cable or connector. I still need to test this latest
theory, which I'll do over the weekend. (I have some actual client
work to do. Sorry if you have heard me say this before: I could get
*so* much work done if it weren't for those pesky clients. <g>)
