I didn't really wish for it, but when you are faced with mundane tasks we all need to do, like hardware maintenance, backups, upgrades, learning more about software which is useful but not "core" to our work, it is easy to have that fleeting thought. Unfortunately, the last year or so disproven the notion. Billable work has become elusive (for the first time in 25 years). When you are not busy, you (or at least *I*) just don't attend to this stuff diligently, either. The real adage: "If you want something done, give it to a busy person" seems to be true.
