Hi, Charles
I think you should look at a small, light laptop, then add a large monitor and
USB keyboard for use when you're at home. I saw some photos of programmers'
workstations, and the one that caught my eye was a MacBook Air (small) over to
the side of the desk, connected to two 24" monitors and a large keyboard.
Light and portable when that's what you need, but no restrictions when you're
at home.
MacBook Air size, weight, and price: 11.6" display 2.38 lbs $899
13.3" display 2.96 lbs $999Or the Windows equivalent if you don't want
to make the Mac jump. My main recommendation is keep the laptop display small,
saving weight and battery life, and add full-size monitor and keyboard when
you're working at home.
