John - my Guess - and I do have a good bit of experience in CG - is that
its PSP that's causing the problem. I suspect PSP is doing some
compressions to the images. What you describe sounds like lower quality
JPG images. Also - in Word - if it tries to show the image in any
resolution other than its original dimensions - IT Maybe be squeezing
the images and causing problems.
Anyway - just a thought...
