is decades old, but the tests are very similar to those used by IBM back
in the days when programmers were selected on innate ability rather than
educational qualifications - I believe the tests are available online.
For all I know the actual IBM tests may be in the public domain - I
haven't googled it (but I know they're good cos' I passed them <vbg> )

I am looking for a trainee assistant to take over my post when I eventually
retire fully (2-3 years). We have advertised the post extensively on the web

previous programming experience and that the successful applicant will probably
be of university standard - but not going to university, what sort of aptitude
test would any of you suggest.
