Gil:
All the servers here are Dells. I am a *certified* (or is it certifiable?) Dell
tech and can have parts here in less
than 24 hours. The interesting point is that in the 8 years we have been using
Dell servers I haven't needed that service.
All of our ticketing is now handled by a pair of Dell servers that Ticketmaster
recommended. Accepting their proposal
was a no brainer for me.
If my memory serves me correctly CompUSA bought ComputerCity.
I always watch the Staples adds for deals. For example, I bought Konica/Minolta
laser printers for $27 with a sale
price, instant rebate coupon, MIR, and a flat reduction from their preferred
customer program. Couple that with several
Canon 4X6 photo printers for $1 and change and Sandisk 1GB SD cards for $5. I'm
sure CompUSA has/had similar offers.
CompUSA had a deal on the Mio Digiwalker C310x GPS last week for $149 (MSRP is
$549). As I understand it no store in the
area honored that price because all the local Jersey stores were in
liquidation. Just another nail in their coffin. For
those of you that are not familiar with the C310x it has WindowsCE .Net 4.2 as
its operating system and can be hacked to
show the CE desktop. Out of the box with no hacking it is a GPS, MP3 player
with a 3.5" touch screen and a SirfStarIII
chipset (it is about the size of a deck of cards). So this is my new PPC.
Regards,

Jack
