Not difficult at all.  I have a system (not tested, the client decided to
retire before I finished the app) which generates a key based on a month and
year which are used as an expiry date.  The app deciphers the key to derive
the expiry date and falls over if it is later than the expiry date.  You're
welcome to eth code if it will help.  It's rather unfinished to upload :-)
