Laminate is really easy to lay.  All you need is a jigsaw to cut it to
required lengths and the stuff just locks together.  Apparently it's
best to start in the middle of the room and work outwards (not
entirely sure why!).  I put laminate flooring down in my mums house
last year.  If I can do it anyone can - I'm a computer geek, not a
builder!

We have laminate in this rented flat here.  Looks nice but I must say
that I prefer the warmth and comfort of carpet (but here in the UK it
can get a bit chilly in winter!).
