For the same reason that I would never get a regular phone in.... pink, 
or sky blue, or orange, or chocolate.

iPhones are for teenagers who don't write complete sentences or spell 
words with all of their letters. Sorry, but like you said, I'm an old 
fart, and dadgummit, I'm gonna stay that way.

Seriously, I just don't trust AT&T's half of the equation. And I don't 
think an iPhone is an acceptable email device.
