I'm talking about programs world wide that would increase the supply of
food. Too many countries don't have enough, and don't have the tools,
water, and farming/ranching skills needed to succeed in the agricultural
arena. These are very solvable problems.

The government has long know the importance of keeping American
agriculture healthy, so subsidies like low interest loans, special tax
and other special treatment for Framer/Rancher hurt within a disaster
area, buying surpluses to maintain prices, etc. is good business and
keep the Farmer/Rancher strong, and in turn America strong. If the
truth be told, the Farmers and Ranchers of the USA have born on their
backs a disproportional burden of keeping the American economy strong.
The American Farmers and Rancher have provided so much for so little,
and they increasingly become a smaller fraction of the American work
force each year.

Anyway, the claim today is a world wide wheat shortage due to crop
failures last year has lead to reduced supply of wheat, which has driven
prices of all groceries up, but I'm wondering if that dog will hunt. LOL

As alternative fuels come online, it mean less dependence on foreign
oil. If the demand for oil decreases, so does price for a barrel of
oil, not to mention the reduction of military cost associate with
protect US foreign oil interest. As alternative fuels become mainstream
and mass production of alternative energy begins,
transportation/distribution cost of goods and services will come down.
America should strive to become a country that is energy self
sufficient. It would make America and the world a much happier and
safer place. Now, that a plan!
