My 2 cents. I had an opportunity to discuss this very subject with several people "in the know". It is my understanding that none of the reasons below were at play. It is my understanding that they wanted the technology - especially rushmore - and the people. I believe that rushmore is in SQL Server and possibly other stuff. WE also know that there are FoxPro people scattered throughout the company and not in trivial positions. I personally don't believe for a minute that they wanted to "kill" FoxPro. You can believe what you want, but it really doesn't make much difference one way or the other.
