Overheating is possible.  I had it on my coffee table (...it's a laptop) 
and the fan underneath may have been blocked somewhat by a magazine the 
laptop was sitting on.  Reminds me of a good idea you had mentioned 
awhile back---where you glued plastic caps onto the bottom of your 
laptop to help give it "clearance" for better air flow.  I should do that!!!

This laptop is 5+ years old now, so it'll probably be on its last leg soon.
