I thought the answer was Norton Ghost, but conversations > here in the past (iirc) have made me question that idea. >Ghost works for me. Re Ghost: Fortunately I haven't had to do a full restore of a ghost backup onto a new/replacement drive yet, but I take Ghost backups regularly. My expectation is that when a drive fails, I'll be able to recover to a replacement, and that will make Ghost worth every penny. I have used the Ghost backup viewer to restore individual files from a backup, and that works just fine. I did run into one problem with Ghost 9: Installing the .NET 2.x framework to "update" 1.1, so I could work with the MS C compiler, and that action killed Ghost 9 which it appears depends on 1.1. I've since recovered by getting rid of the 2.x framework Bill -- Paul _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[EMAIL PROTECTED] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
