I use Fastmail's (fastmail.fm) rules to delete emails by poster or keywords and/or auto-file emails into specific folders. Works great. And I don't have to worry about awkward Outlook PST files becoming corrupted or backing up these giant files. Plus I gain the flexibility of accessing my email from anywhere. I'm using Fastmail's Enhanced Plan, about $40/year. Given the amount of time I spend on email and how valuable my email archives are, this service would be a bargain at 10x its price.
