Yeah, that was another big reason for me to go with PostgreSQL. I will
NEVER have to look over my shoulder and wonder if anyone would be coming
after me for any unpaid fees, intentionally unpaid or otherwise (otherwise
in my case). It is also one of the bigger reasons I have begun to use Linux
for my File Server needs as opposed to Windows Server. I will never, ever
have to worry about having licensed enough CALs for the machines connecting
to a Windows File Server, nor about the growth of utilization exceeding CAL
licenses.

All I need to worry about now is making certain any apps that require
Windows, and the Windows Workstation OS (2000, XP Pro), are properly
licensed, whether running in a Virtual PC or real PC. That is easy comapred
to Server/CAL/TS CAL license issues to deal with. I have decided to not
worry about any Windows licensing when running compiled VFP apps under
CrossOver Office/WINE. The VFP EULA is intentionally arbitrary and unclear
on that point. I will take my chances once I get back onto that little
project. By the time I would run into problems I will have likely migrated
to Python anyway <g>...
