I'm so tired of this term "the attack machine" as if it is the exclusive province of Republicans to attack opposing candidates. The "attack machine" of the Left has been in full battle array since Dean's Scream in 2004 and have been very successful at portraying our military victories as political defeats, and our president as every ugly name in the book, natural disasters as evil Republican plots to wipe out black people and wreck the planet, and basically everything as bad, bad, bad, such that any empty suit with a sign that says "Change" on it looks good right now. And so, enter Obama... > There's a lot of fodder on the liberalism front, because Obama is > recorded > as being anti death penalty and several other positions that are more > liberal than the Clintons were. He is by far the most far-left candidate ever to run for President, and currently the most left-wing Senator in the Congress. Even more so than Kerry and Kennedy, which is pretty amazing, actually. > > IMO, it is going to be difficult to elect a president from the far > left, > whether there are racial attacks or not. I hope you're right. But I suspect you're wrong because McCain will manage to blow every advantage he has and find new and clever ways to piss off his base in order to appeal to Obama's, which won't be impressed with McCain when they can have the Real Deal in Obama. - Bob > > Kristyne _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[EMAIL PROTECTED] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
